man, your drawings are super cool
Yep, the lasso tool in Photoshop. It's strange to use at first but if you build up your shapes with multiple selections as you draw, filling them as you go, you can build up some great stuff. I'm character animating (2D) at Dreamworks for the DVD release of "The Kung Fu Panda" and they're doing the background digital paintings this way. It gives things a spontaneity but at the same time there seems to be plenty of control.
