Love Poems For Valentine

Please enjoy another one of my love poems.

Swimming Through Love
Cry with me
Rubbing your softness into my skin
Let us blend our tears together
Concocting wet sunshine
To flash across our years
Let your fingers trace
And let your lips erase all the pain
Swim with me
In wet desire
And may the juices flow
From one love to another love
So that we may drink and taste the wine of one another
And let us be drunk on love
Feasting on the meat
Of each others pure heart
And let us dance in the others dreams
While the bright moon of paradise
Shines on this night of our love
And may the sun rise
Upon our bodies entwined
Like rope, like bread, like a thread
Unbroken
By our long time...
Apart

That love poem, again, builds a tight connection to nature. Some of my poetry has been compared to Pablo Neruda for this reason. I am not trying to pat myself on the back (or maybe I am!) but I like the comparison, certainly. I also like blending nature and romantic themes. It's just the right combination for my particular brand of love poems.

Nurturing Mother

Qualities of a Nurturing Mother

As a mother, we all want to be nurturing to our children. Too many times, we struggle with motherhood.

I do not know any mother who does not want to be loving and nurturing but how do you accomplish that difficult task? Well I am going to share with you what I believe to be are the qualities of a nurturing mother.

She encourages her children to pursue their dreams… An encouraging mother invests time helping her children discover and discern their purpose. She listens, and gathers information relevant to that dream.

She teaches her children nothing is as bad as it first appears. Softly teaches her children not to fear but have faith in themselves and know that with her support everything will be okay. She comforts them.

She knows her children will become something greater. An acorn becomes an oak tree. Babies become Leaders! A mother that lets her children know that she believes in them ALWAYS. She does not focus on their flaws because she sees who they are capable of becoming and helps shape them into that person, a confident individual.

She celebrates every tiny success of her child. Love is excited when another excels! Others will envy. But not her, she celebrates and encourages. She creates a climate of enthusiasm and excitement around every step of progress. She realizes this produces confidence and builds self worth.

She knows when to speak and when to remain silent. Words Matter. Silence matters, too! She carefully chooses uplifting words and remains silent, listening, when her children long to be heard. She doesn’t interrupt with words of judgment and criticism. The nurturing mother knows her children are often just seeking a listening ear.

She hears a matter out before judging. She knows that information is sometimes distorted. Details are limited. Accurate conclusions are not possible when something is unknown. She always believes the best—but will not be too harsh when mistakes are made. She realizes that mistakes are inevitable in life. Assures them that mistakes are part of growing up. She teaches her children mistakes are lessons to be learned from.

This loving mother knows her children well… She realizes that each child is different. They respond differently. Learn differently. Each has fears unspoken and unknown. Each one is birthing dreams that others cannot understand. But she knows and gently teaches each child to understand. She knows that what causes one to cry causes another to become angry. She is careful to deal with her children individually, not comparing them to the other. Instead pointing out their wonderful differences and nurturing each one.

She is a refuge. Life is stormy but she creates a safe haven. Making it safe to tell her about the winds of rivalry and blasts of jealousy endured in a day. The broken become healed in her presence. For this mother, it’s with her there is no fear to disclose inner truth; mistakes made or depths of dreams and desires. Nothing seems silly in her presence. Every dream and desire seems obtainable. Safety and comfort are in the presence of this nurturing mother.

Affection of this mother is always comforting. It is impossible to receive too much warmth, caring, and affection. Affection heals. Love restores. Kindness strengthens. She reaches, comforts, loves and holds her children close to her. Hugging and caressing her children is normal and necessary for children to become whole.

She warns and corrects her children with love. Children are easily influenced. It is necessary to provide instruction, direction and correction. The way it is administered makes all the difference. She has an understanding and is careful not to make her children feel like a bad person. This nurturing mother disapproves of the action but LOVES the child.

She teaches her children how to appropriately harness their anger. Sadly, she understands that prisons are filled with children who couldn’t control their anger. This nurturing mother teaches her children how to channel rage into a project, a career, and become a solution. Anger is an energy that needs an appropriate focus.

This nurturing mother realizes that disappointments will come. Things don’t always turn out the way we want them to so she teaches her children to accept that and dream again. Realizing that Dreaming again is important she instills this in her children.

She requires her children to accept responsibility for the problems they create. Blaming others multiple problems. The nurturing mother doesn’t create an environment of blame. Things happen…so she teaches her children to accept that fact. If not, she knows that it breeds people who don’t take responsibility for their actions. She teaches her children to become responsible for their own actions… She does not allow her children not to blame other people for their mistakes or actions.

She explains influence to her children. Always monitors her children’s friends, television programs, music, and clothes. She explains to her children the need to have good influence but in the end, she has the last and final word. She is always in authority as the mother and does not place herself in a position as a friend who “hangs out”.

The nurturing mother is not afraid to reach out for help. Nobody succeeds alone. Reaching is not a sign of weakness. It is the proof of humility. There are times when we have to seek outside help for our children. Love your children enough and reach…

Sad love poems

If you're in the mood for sad love poems then you'll appreciate these next couple of love poems. Take it from my favorite book... Blurry Joy: Poems of Love and Celebration

Silence
In this silence I love you.
And with this silence I give to you.
In spite of this silence I cherish you.
But still the silence; I don't understand you.
Because of this silence I come to you;
Embraced in silence I hold you.
I've never known such silence, yet it speaks to me.
For with this silence I long to be.
Talk to me in silence.
Speak to me without words of understanding.
Let me not mistake this silence for neglect,
For your silence is love
In your own way,
And in your own
Guarded heart.

The Birth of Our Love
I smile at the birth of our love.
Because my lips remember innocence,
And how hope shined.
Poems, park benches, a picnic basket,
And an ocean view.
These were our deliberation.
And then the fleeting touch,
The hand,
And our first kiss.
That was when your lips met me,
And after,
Remembered me for a time.
But now they do not speak,
They do not speak, they do not speak
My name.
But I remember.
You wore suede boots.
There were clouds in the sky,
Sunshine in our bellies,
And boats with sails upon the water.
We blushed, we laughed,
We talked and dreamed,
Walking on that pier.
Come near, come near,
To me once again,
And let your lips remember.

Sad love poems are similar to most other love poems in that they celebrate your loved one, but these types of poems carry with them the end of a relationship. They are special. Sad love poems are a just another part of that magical thing called love.

Love and gratitude make your heart happy

Stop a moment and think about all the things going right in your life. Tune into your body and how many of your body parts are functioning healthily. Do your eyes work? How about your arms and legs?

You become an instant billionaire when you start placing a monetary value on your body parts. How much would you sell an eye for? Is your heart worth millions or billions?

What about your ability to speak and share joy and abundance, happiness and sorrow, with friends and family?

Can you imagine your life if you spent just a few moments more on a regular basis expressing love and gratitude, along with healing your emotions of the past?

In reality, we always have a lot to be thankful for and expressing love and gratitude regularly insures we stay connected to Source. We feel better almost immediately when we express love and gratitude.

What are some ways can you express love and gratitude?

Anthony Robbins the great motivational speaker suggested on one of his programs to do a Gratitude Walk daily. He said we should shout out what we're grateful for as we walk, thus it sinks more into the body and mind at the same time.

Carol Look says a similar thing as she also suggests a Gratitude Walk in her Attracting Abundance e-Book.

Carol actually takes it farther by using EFT and suggesting tapping points to help clear the emotional wounds that keep us from experiencing greater abundance. She is a prime believer in the power of love and gratitude.

I do a Gratitude Swim at least three times a week in my local health club pool. I start off by thanking the water for being warm, then I thank the electric company for providing the electricity to heat the pool, I thank the owner for offering me the chance to swim, and the list goes on and on.

I feel good as I'm swimming and expressing love and gratitude.

How often do we thank our body and simply show it love and gratitude by the way we treat it?

Do we eat healthy foods, exercise regularly, breathe deeply, drink plent of good water, get massages and other uplifting things that show our bodies we love and respect them?

When is the last time you thanked your gall bladder or liver, your heart or lungs, for doing an outstanding job under strenuous conditions?

We can almost always find something to express love and gratitude for. Victor Frankl in Man's Search for Meaning showed us that no one can take away our self-love and respect unless we choose to let them. He was a prisoner in a German concentration camp and survived because he held onto his dignity and self-respect.

In other words, he showed love and gratitude to himself for who he was.

Love and gratitude: major factors in attracting abundance

Expressing love and gratitude on a regular basis has proven to be an effective and rapid way to raise your vibration, activate the Law of Attraction and increase abundance.

You immediately find yourself at peace when you express gratitude. You can't be angry and grateful at the same time.

When you express love, your whole world dances in joy and you feel instantly happy.

The strange but fascinating aspect of this is that when you express love, you raise your vibration. When you express gratitude, you raise your vibration. But when you express love and gratitude together, as a pair, you raise your vibration much more.

It's almost as if something beyond our mind's ability to understand occurs when love and gratitude go hand in hand. Why this happens is a mystery, though there are verifiable results that prove it true.

Hogwash, you might be thinking to yourself. Impossible. How can combining love and gratitude be proven to raise your vibration? Read on, dear skeptic, and keep your heart open.

I know the above wild, bold and extraordinary claim may sound ridiculous. Yet it deserves your research and attention if you consider yourself to be at all open-minded. It's hard to believe at first, yet if prayers have proven effective in healing, isn't it possible that expressing love and gratitude can raise your vibration?

"Prayer may be an effective adjunct to standard medical care," says cardiac researcher William Harris, Ph.D., who headed the St. Luke's study. The study was published in the October 25, 1999 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine.

Prayers for gratitude and gratitude quotes all help you feel better. But if you truly want to change how your energy vibrates in your body, consider the following information carefully and check it out.

World respected author and scientist Masaru Emoto in his book The Hidden Messages in Water proves through pictures and studies that writing the words love and gratitude on bottles of water changes the way the crystallized water cells appear when pictures taken by special cameras are compared with water left untreated by the words love and gratitude.

Here's a quote from the producers and directors of one of the most fascinating, well respected and highly acclaimed documentaries of modern times, What the Bleep Do We Know?: What has put Dr. Emoto at the forefront of the study of water is his proof that thoughts and feelings affect physical reality. By producing different focused intentions through written and spoken words and music and literally presenting it to the same water samples, the water appears to "change its expression".

Pictures of water crystals are clear, brilliant, and beautiful to witness when thoughts of love and gratitude were focused upon the water. Water crystals were fragmented and broken up when negative thoughts were directed at the water.

When you consider that humans are 70-80% water as adults, and that we have the potential to change our vibrations merely by saying certain words, we can actually make our crystals within us be beautiful, clear and brilliant.

Thus, we humans have a new way of healing ourselves: if we focus on love and gratitude, we can increase our vibrations and drive disease away. But, and here is the BIG but, we have to be willing to focus on love and gratitude. And very few of us are willing because

Most people don't love or accept themselves enough yet to focus on love and gratitude.
Thus, raising our vibration is often easier said than done.

We often don't love ourselves because our many emotional wounds and traumas stored in our bodies make us act unconsciously. We do things and act in ways that totally confuse us, that aren't in our best interests, that have nothing to do with our intentions of loving ourselves. We act unconsciously because our emotions are much stroner than our will-power.

It's been proven that our unconscious rules the roost. Thus, although we say we want more love and gratitude in our lives, until we clear unconscious beliefs, we're spinning our wheels.

It's a shame because love is lacking in many of our lives. Not that we don't want love, of course we do. It's one of the aspects of life that give us the most satisfaction. In fact, studies show that more people on their deathbeds wish they'd experienced more love in their lives.

Yet, if love is so critical and so many of us are lacking it, what's the solution? How do we deepen our love for ourselves and our love for others?

Part of the problem is the levels of stress we create in our lives. Notice, I used the words we create. We need to begin looking at how we conduct and carryout our lives becfore we can change and find more love and gratitude.

We're living in a world where the masses of people feel enormous stress on a daily basis. Stress reducing drugs are the number one seller these days and more and more, people feel their lives are out of control.

However, help is available. As more and more people become desperate, they turn within and turn to God to seek answers.

We have been blessed to have stress reducing techniques available that work rapidly, quickly, and effectively. I know, because I've healed myself with a combination of these techniques and daily manage my post tramatic stress disorder PTSD with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

EFT helps me relieve my stress within moments. EFT is like acupuncture without the needles. EFT is a great step in helping me and others live happier, more fulfilling and less stressful lives.

I highly suggest EFT be taught in schools. In any program that stresses character education, EFT would be a great supplement. Gratitude and love flourish in a world where people are less stressed.

However, we each can choose to experience greater freedom and less stress by learning EFT.

100 Acts of Kindness begin with self-love

100 Acts of Kindness begin with self-love, step #1 in learning to be kind to others.

The idea of performing or practicing 100 acts of kindness begins to enter our thoughts as we deepen self-love. It's as though the more we love ourselves, the more willing we become to share that love in acts of kindness.

Love acts as a kindness currency, and the more we spend our kindness currency, the more love we have. It becomes much easier to show kindness to animals, for example, once we've demonstrated kindness to ourselves and others.

For some people I know, however, the reverse is true: it becomes easier to show kindness to humans after they've showed kindness to animals, some of whom can give 100 acts of kindness to us in a very short time period: dogs and cats lick our faces, make us smile, hop on our laps, rescue us when we're sad and the like.

If you'd like to witness a picture of kindness, attend Boy Scout meetings and camping trips where fathers and other volunteers might exhibit 100 acts of kindness during one long weekend exploration.

An inspirational kindness activity takes place everytime you extend yourself to a neighbor or a stranger, when you do it out of the kindness of your heart and have no expectations of rewards.

So, in order to show acts of kindness, we have to be able to be kind to ourselves; being kind to ourselves means we love ourselves enough to remember that we're always doing the best we can. When we remember that we're doing the best we can, we often share ourselves more readily with others and receive enormous rewards that have nothing to do with money.

In fact, it has often been said that money can't buy me happiness, yet kindness and love towards yourself and others can.

So to inspire you to complete your 100 acts of kindness during whatever time frame you choose, let's begin by listing some acts of kindness.

Beginning the list of 100 acts of kindness

#1) Smile at yourself when you look in the mirror, and say: "I love you."
Was this hard or easy for you to do? If you don't have a lot of self-love, more than likely you struggled with this first of the 100 acts of kindness we're shooting for.

Although this act of kindness may sound weird or strange, the reason for it is simple: few people realize and understand the importance of sending loving, positive, uplifting messages to yourself regularly.

The more you smile at yourself and tell yourself you love yourself, the more you learn to accept yourself unconditionally. Accepting yourself unconditionally is a key aspect of attracting abundance.

This is not to say that you're the total center of the universe and act mean or superior to others. It simply means that you've deepened your love for yourself sufficiently so that you know that what you put out into the world comes back to you.

You can only give to others what you possess yourself. If you love yourself, you can share that love with others, doing as many as 100 acts of kindness in a week.

Acts of kindness begin with loving yourself. So, practice looking in the mirror, smiling, and telling yourself: "I love you."

#2) Go for a Gratitude Walk or Swim, expressing gratitude for all you're thankful for. As you recognize the gifts that abound in your life, and you see your present state of abundance, you notice people you're thankful for.

Then, you begin to think of ways to do something nice for them. That's the beginning of carrying out #2 of 100 acts of kindness.

For example, when I go swimming at Tom Young's Gym in Las Cruces, NM, I thank the electric company for the warm water, I thank Tom Young for building the pool, I'm grateful to the town for paving roads so my vehicle can easily drive to the gym.

Then, I express gratitude to the various parts of my body that keep me going without me having to do anything: I thank my lungs and heart, my feet and eyes, my nose and shoulders, whatever parts I can remember as I swim along.

If you're having a lousy day, going for a Gratitude Walk can turn your day around. You can't be grateful and unhappy at the same time. As you express gratitude and love for what is right in your life, your angle of vision shifts and you come to see that what is missing or lacking in your life doesn't take away from what is right about your life.

Being grateful costs nothing but it offers you the potential for many rewards that uplift your spirit and heart effortlessly.

It's almost impossible to perform 100 acts of kindness without feeling grateful for things or persons or values or beliefs in your own life. If you have a hard time thinking of things to be grateful for, check out your own body.

Imagine all the parts, all the organs and cells, that make up your beautiful human body. Would you be willing to trade any of your essential body parts for money?

Well, some people might, but most of us would be hard pressed to place a dollar value on our eyes or ears, our hearts or lungs.

When we value ourselves and our bodies, we more easily express gratitude for the different parts that make us unique and loving beings.

As I stated above, learning to love yourself is a critical step in carrying out 100 acts of kindness.

Random acts of kindness

If you'd like to read some inspring stories about random acts of kindness to inspire your own list of 100 acts of kindness, the non-profit organization Random Acts of Kindness Foundation is a great place to check out.

The Foundation offers free e-cards, graphics, stories of kindness, a calendar of events and other free stuff. If you need ideas to get you motivated to be kinder, the above link is a good starting place.

100 acts of kindness lead to a happy heart

Here's #3 on the list of 100 acts of kindness: say hello to strangers, with a big, warm, generous smile. Even if they don't respond, don't take it personally. Usually, we go about our lives with expectations from others. I've discovered that the more I expect from others, the greater pain and misery visit me.

As you smile to others and say hello, try to remember that we all come from the same Creator. No matter how weird or strange another person appears, we're from the same Source.

Who knows what might happen if your smile and hello reach someone's heart who feels all alone, abandoned, without a friend?

The more you are caring and kind to others, the more your heart sings a happy tune.

As your heart sings a happy tune, you attract more abundance into your life, whether it's joy and love or material abundance.

It's absolutely impossible to easily attract joy and love into your life without being happy. Thus, one way to increase happiness is to serve others by acts of kindness.

I'll keep adding to this page until I have 100 acts of kindness, so you'll have examples of what you might consider doing.

If you're feeling at all blocked and unable to imagine yourself performing 100 acts of kindness, you might consider what your beliefs are that are keeping your heart closed down and shut off.

This whole web site is geared to increasing your abundance, as the more people who feel at peace and happy with their lives, the more that peace dwells on the earth.

No one can make you happy. It's an inside, internal job, but help is available.

A love poem: Sunday Morn

For now though, here's a different twist. Imagine going to church with your loved one, but you can't concentrate on the sermon! I wrote this next love poem driving to the church and right through the message. I love this one. It's called Sunday Morn. Here goes:

The broad dark sky was tree-lined,
Such a vast expanse of gray.
Clouds they were, spilling rain,
On a Sunday morn, but there was no field of corn.
Only Black asphalt paved the way
To the steepled roof, where people knelt to pray
And sing as they did, with hands outstretched
Voices aloft,
Weeping.
And the man with gestures
Spoke and walked to and fro
Extrapolating certain meaning
From the small words in the big book.
Alters were built,
And should be built, he said,
As I held your hand.
Wells were dug and wells are good,
He said,
As I recalled the rain
Then drew an imaginary ring on your finger,
Smiling,
Hoping that it would not wash away in the rain.
This world is unkind,
Said the nice gesturing man,
And I think that he is right

This love poem can be found on Blurry Joy: Poems of Love and Celebration
