Body Language - saying so much, without speaking

The majority of actual conversation is composed of body language, so it’s obviously important to have an awareness of these non verbal cues, if you want to get your message across. It’s also important to be able to recognize them in others

Your level of confidence affects your body language, very much like how real words are pronounced and stressed. Each action, subtle or emphasized, should properly compliment the idea, whether or not you choose to use it with words. People will understand your body language only if you confidently present and project yourself.

Positive Body Language

Positive body language is defined as showing gestures or facial expressions that convey an optimistic or positive response, or simply meaning "yes". The most obvious form is to simply nod your head in agreement. Other notable facial expressions would be smiling, brightening, or opening your eyes wider and showing enthusiasm and interest with a gaping mouth.

Open arms, an openly expressed torso and widely spaced legs are also known as positive forms of body language, which means that you are welcoming the thought or you are positively responding to the conversation. Mirroring is another technique where you tend to imitate at least one gesture that the other person is doing to show agreement.

Negative Body Language

Negative body language is the opposite, where you show disagreement or refute part or the entire idea of any given conversation. You can show negative responses without words by shaking your head, frowning, gritting your teeth, or raising your eyebrows. These classic facial expressions will immediately show your objection.

Crossed arms and standing your ground with firm feet placement is a great way to express non verbally. Raising your index finger when trying to emphasize an idea against the subject being raised often helps. Make sure you don’t point directly at any individual, since you're particularly addressing the concept and are not setting out to be personal.

The idea between positive and negative body language is to show your response in a way that coincides with the words you're saying or are about to say - something that's particularly important in public speaking

Here are some more of the valuable applications of body language:

Some elements of female body language and male body language are different. However there are a number of areas where they overlap.

Eyes And Eyebrows

The position and movement of your eyebrows are some of the most noticed elements when you communicate with a person face-to-face.

A classic example on body language that conveys apprehension is when you have your eyebrows converging in the middle, as with frowning. Even if you talk softly and slowly, the person whom you are interacting with may think that you are almost about to lose your temper.

Lips

Another body part that is usually interpreted for the probable mood of a person is the mouth.

A retracted lower lip that is almost bit by the upper teeth is usually a sign that the person is holding back and waiting for affirmation or action from the other person.

A retracted upper lip that's bit by the lower teeth usually signifies a person who's holding back and keeping mixed reactions, as with a reaction to the message being conveyed by the other.

Such small movements of the lips have significant implications to the person seeing them and may serve as a basis to either continue or halt the communication process.

Extremities

The arms and legs are considered responsible for a larger concept of body language, as these are more profound and have a heavier impact.

Crossing the arms over the chest usually signifies doubt, mistrust, impatience, or closed-mindedness. Combined with the body resting on one leg and having the other stepped away and angled, the whole idea of this unwelcoming look is heightened.

Examples on body language may be corrected with appropriate gestures by practicing and internalizing how you would probably feel if you were the one seeing those actions you are doing. Actions often speak louder than words, so it's best to always be conscious of your gestures and movements.

Making a “Steeple” with Your Hands

This is often used in superior/subordinate interactions. It can demonstrate confidence and a 'know-it-all' attitude. There are 2 versions:

  1. The raised steeple - when the person is talking, expressing their opinion
  2. The lowered steeple - when the person is listening The steeples should be interpreted in conjunction with other signs. If they are preceded by positive body language, for example talking with palms open and leaning forward, then the steeple indicates a positive conclusion is likely.

If it follows negative signs, for example legs crossed and arms folded, then the outcome is likely to be negative.

Palm gripping

Holding your head up high, chin out and one palm gripping the other hand behind your back. This is a confidence/superiority position. You have your stomach, heart and throat regions exposed which is an unconscious act of fearlessness. If you are in stressful situation assuming this position can help calm you down and take control of the situation.

Arms crossed

This is a negative or defensive position. Most people will assume this position if they disagree with what they are hearing. Even if someone is agreeing with you, if their arms are crossed they will have a negative attitude towards you. Their negative attitude will continue until they have uncrossed their arms, once they have done this you will have a better chance of bringing them round to your point of view.

Mirroring positions

You often see two people talking, standing in the same pose. This indicates that they are in agreement with each other, they like each other. If one uncrosses their arms, the other will do the same. If one stands with one foot forward, the other will assume the same position.

To establish a rapport with someone, mirror their poses, or even their breathing - this will have the effect of relaxing them and giving them a non-verbal indication that you are both thinking along the same lines.

Body positioning

The easy way to tell whether the person you're talking to is enjoying the conversation: The person is standing facing you with their body and feet pointing towards you and mirroring your positions. The tell-tale signs that someone's feeling uncomfortable or not enjoying the conversation: The person's head is turned towards you and appears engaged in the conversation - smiling, nodding etc, but their body and feet are pointing away from you.

If someone's body is turned away from you it will be facing the place where they'd rather be. If they're pointed towards another person or the exit then it's time to terminate the conversation or do something else to attract their full attention

7 Tips for a Confident Handshake

A person who is confident gives a firm handshake (palms pointing downwards in most cases).

Someone who is nervous, or shy gives a wilted handshake (palms pointing upwards in most cases).

  1. Smile while shaking hands, but don't smile for too long because it might give the perception that you're gullible or not too smart.
  2. Make eye contact for around 3 seconds while shaking hands.
  3. If you're sitting down, stand up to show respect when shaking hands. Remaining seated while shaking hands may give the impression that you're not interested in the other party, and may offend them.
  4. With sweaty hands, wipe off the sweat with a napkin or handkerchief before shaking hands.
  5. Extend your arm outward to show them your enthusiasm and confidence.
  6. Your palm should come in contact with their palm. This conveys openness and sincerity, and proves that you're not hiding anything.
  7. Shake hands firmly, but don't give too much pressure.

Improving Self Confidence - you can if you think you can!

Improving self confidence is possibly the last thing we might be expecting to need do, when as children with such vivid imaginations, we could do so many things without batting an eyelid because no one had told us we couldn't. Then once we started believing we couldn't we applied it to so many different situations in our lives.

We all know just how creative young children can be. Right now, your fridge door may be a living example of this very fact. Whether or not they can draw, they do so and proudly bring home the fruits of their creativity.

That is until they get to an age when they are being told ‘they can’t and are wasting paper’and their confidence starts to take a dip. UK cartoonist and trainer in visual thinking, Martin Shovel exploits this and turns it to good advantage in the work he does within his adult students, improving self confidence and in reawakening their creativity.

I remember a number of years ago (long before I knew anything about the theory or Paul McKenna techniques), my daughter Criona was having a difficult time studying for an exam. She was sure she was going to fail. No doubt you’ve been there.

Once you find one reason for failing you can so easily come up with so many others, then it’s a kind of downward spiral. On this occasion, just before the floods of tears, I asked her to recall how she felt the previous term, when she won the cup for her outstanding performance in history.

“Fantastic”, she said. “How would you like to get that feeling again”, I responded.

Criona was able to visualise her previous success and then imagine it as a future success. Her mind was unable to make that time differentiation, so suddenly she was able to adopt a new more positive state of mind. That's improving self confidence at the "flick of a switch".

If you believe you can do something or you believe you can’t – you are right. Tell yourself you can do something and you open up the neurological pathways that can provide you with the resources for achievement.Suddenly you gain self confidence!

Why not Write down some ‘can do’ beliefs and place them by the bathroom mirror?

For example:

  • I am as good as anyone else
  • I always give my best
  • I focus on what I want, learn from my mistakes and let go
  • I have amazing gifts to share with the world

Then just repeat them to yourself every morning and evening.

Here are some other ideas you might like to try. Just note your improvement in self confidence:

Walk tall

The down-and-out shuffle along, low in self confidence.Walk upright with a spring in your step. You’ll be telling both yourself and the world that you’ve important things to do. More so, you’ll succeed in doing them. When you catch yourself slouching, just imagine that your head is being supported by a wire, just like a puppet’s and stand upright. There's a lot more to body language than you might think! Adopt a new belief

Think of a belief you’d like to own and imagine what having it will enable you to achieve. On a daily basis, act as if the new belief were true (even if it feels artificial). You’ll be reprogramming your brain in the new positive perspective. For instance if you were looking for a promotion at work, then act as if you’ve already got the job (they say - fake it til you make it!!).

Have faith in your own abilities

Checkout the detail. Sound out others about your interpretation and understanding – they’ll be flattered at being asked. Use your strengths and style to your advantage in supporting your position.

Look at what you’ve already achieved

Relive your life so far and compile a notebook listing all your all achievements. Write them down. Flicking through the pages of this book will work wonders in helping to boost your confidence. Spend a few minutes each week enjoying the success you’ve already had.

Beat self consciousness

If you should feel self conscious or be consumed with shyness in a social situation, turn your attention to others. Ask them questions, show interest and make them feel comfortable. It’s more difficult to be self conscious if you are occupied. And taking an interest in others has the peculiar effect of boosting your own confidence – as well as theirs!

Stop procrastinating!

If you have an idea, then do something about it. Action will help conquer fear and can be a really smart way of improving self confidence. Decisive action feeds and strengthens confidence.

Don’t try to go it alone

If you need improving self confidence on an ongoing basis, ask a compassionate friend to help guide you. There’s a fine line between being pushed and being guided. Make sure you choose the right person.

Ask questions

You’ll be less likely to react, panic or lose control.Asking questions, gives you time to think. It buys you breathing space –apart from finding out the truth. You’ll be (and feel) better equipped to respond logically and calmly.

Develop the Power of Self Belief

When it comes to self belief, it’s very easy to say ‘Believe you can succeed and you will achieve success’ and ‘You can if you think you can’. There are numerous ‘rags to riches’ stories that have at their heart the power of believing in themselves and your and harnessing their motivation. But is this something that can be developed? Here are three techniques that will help you to strengthen your own power and capability.

1. Remind yourself on a regular basis that you are better than you think you are.

Success does not require a super intellect. It’s not based on luck. At the end of each day go over in your mind your successes for that day.

Have a note book handy so you can keep a log of your successes, even the small ones. Build up a log of the major achievements you have had throughout your life. Refer to it on a regular basis and never admit your doubts. You are nothing other than first class.

2. Set the bar high. Think big.

They say to be careful what you wish for, because you might get it. So if you think little goals, expect little achievements. Think big goals and expect big successes.

3. Focus on success, not failure.

Thinking success opens up your mind to create plans that produce success and makes you more receptive to outside influences and stimuli that help success to come about.

When you see an opportunity – think you can, not that you can’t. Thinking failure will condition your mind to think thoughts that produce failure.

Positive Phrases For Inspiration

The first thing you need to know about Positive Phrases is that they are void of any negative statements or words. In other words, if you were to say- "I'm not sad."-or- "I don't feel tired yet." they wouldn't really qualify.

To make a more effective change in your subconscious mind, make the statement in present tense by using "I am" statements. Your subconscious mind only will hear only the "I am" part of any statement you make and disregards everything else.

For example, if you were to say- "I am not hungry."- Your subconscious mind only hears "hungry." Before you know it your looking for something to eat!

So it's important in your every day speech to get into the habit of using words carefully if you want to stay positive. Also, remember to use the words "I have" instead of "I want" when using positive phrases.

Wanting is a future event. You are telling yourself you do not have something. There may be many things that you are not experiencing right now, but repeating that message to yourself is counter productive to your goals.

In fact; this would be using negative thinking and phrases. Something we do without really noticing! It's sneaky that way, so learn to be careful with your words.

Here are some Positive Phrases that you can use for positive affirmations as well:

  •     I find solutions to every situation.
  •     I am a problem solver.
  •     I have everything I need to meet my goals.
  •     I am wealthy.
  •     I learn success from those who are successful.
  •     I am smart.
  •     I have integrity.
  •     I do the difficult things first to make therest simple for myself.
  •     I seek support from those whose talents exceedmy own.
  •     I do what I love and love what I do, so I’llhave success my wholelife through.
  •     Resentment is unknown to me as I forgive thosewho would do me wrong.
  •     Plants and anilnals are without want. ThereforeI am also.
  •     To give brings joy to the giver, as well as therecipient. I do both with grace.

Share these phrases with your friends and family and be sure to add your own to the list!

May your joy and happiness be the sunshine that casts a shadow for all to see!

Happy feelings attract happy circumstances. You can begin feeling whatever you want. The Universe will correspond to the nature of your song. You will attract into your experience what you focus on.

Easy and Fun Exercises To Guide You Through The Steps To Positive Thinking

Thought Awareness. The first Steps To Positive Thinking are:

To be aware of the thoughts you are having.

As simple as that sounds, various sources suggest that the average number of thoughts people have is around 12000 to 50000 per day! That's more than I want to keep track of!

Do you need to be aware of every single thought you have? In a perfect world I'd say YES! The more thoughts you can actually "hear" and be aware that you're having the better!

This takes practice!

The best way I can suggest on how to do this, is to just check in with yourself throughout the day. How do you feel emotionally? What thoughts are you having that are creating those emotions?

Thoughts trigger emotions.

This also sounds like a no brain-er, but the more we are conscious of this fact; the easier our life becomes.

Think about it for a while.

If you're in a good mood right now, what is causing that good mood?

Your thoughts!

Did you say your surroundings or your current circumstance?

Guess what?

Your circumstances have NOTHING to do with your mood or how you feel. It is how you choose to react that does that. So what causes your reactions?

Yep; Your thoughts!

This is why we all need to practice these Steps To Positive Thinking.

You see, when we decide to take control over our thoughts, we also decide to take control over our life and circumstances. This can be a huge challenge! Especially when something really "bad" happens. This is when we really need to be aware that what we think is a choice.

Realize your negative thoughts.

This is one of the most important Steps To Positive Thinking!

When you begin to realize that your choosing to think in a negative way about something, stop! Ask yourself: "How can I think about this in a better way?" Or "how can I make this into something positive for me?"

This is known as thought stopping.

You may need to argue with yourself a bit. You'll need to convince yourself there IS a better way to look at it; that is valid.

This is normal and encouraged! As long as you keep it light and don't get too upset with yourself. Which would totally defeat the purpose!

Easy and fun Steps To Positive Thinking

These are just simple little rituals that you can do that have worked for me.

I've also listed a few I have heard about; that I want to try as well.

Dusting:

Dusting is what I sometimes use when someone is getting on my nerves, or projecting there views on me.

How it's done:

You can do this even while that person is right in front of you.Just act as if something is on you (because it is) and just brush yourself off as though you just came out of a dust storm. As you do this; imagine that you are dusting off the negativity that is being directed at you. Even if that negativity stems from you! Dust it off! (be subtle about it; or wait till you are away from the situation.)

Judgment jar:

I Just read about this one and can't wait to try it! Have you heard that some people keep a "Swear Jar"?

Each time they swear, they but a dollar in the jar. This works very similarly. But instead of putting money in the jar; you would write the thought on a note and put that in the jar. Then, at the end of the day, take the notes out and creatively destroy them. This is where you can have some fun and make it meaningful for you.

You could "redneck" the notes by pinning them to a tree and blasting them with ashotgun! If that meaningful for you, GO FOR IT! (Just be careful!!) You could also Burn 'em, throw them in the trash... Whatever! Hey; this is your chance to get creative and have some fun! Just remember that you are destroying your negativity as you do it.

The baggage drop:

This is a good one to use when you come home from a bad day at work.

[or if your glad to be at work from a bad day at home ;-)...]

Mentally put all those bad thoughts and emotions into a luggage bag andleave them behind.

(If you fly, you could just check in your baggage at theairport! I'm sure they will take care of losing it for you! ha ha)

Get creative! Come up with your own Steps To Positive Thinking. Wash negative thoughts off in the shower. What ever works for you!

What you are trying to do is re-train your reticular activating system. This is one of two small parts in your brain that Scientist believe controlmotivation and behavior in mammals. Hey! That includes us!

Meditation and other thought control methods are also helpful Steps To Positive Thinking.I'll include more about this soon! So stay tuned.

I hope you've enjoyed these Steps To Positive Thinking and find them useful in your life.

How to Live With Positive Thoughts.

When you can start the day with positive thoughts, You'll find that your day goes much better.

However; So many people wake up on the "wrong side of the bed."

If this is you, then here are some suggestions to help you turn that frown upside down.

Fact:
Did you know that it takes only 17 muscles to smile and a whopping 43 muscles to frown?

That would suggest to me that it takes almost three times as much energy to be unhappy, down, or in any other negative mood than it does to just be happy. This is when laziness is a good thing, take advantage of it!(Just that thought alone makes ME smile!)

Start your day with at least one positive thought. Something that will make you smile and look forward to the rest of your day.

STAY IN THE NOW!

This is the best advice I have ever heard! Focus only on this moment. The past is gone, you can't change it.

Tomorrow never comes and two ours from now will always be two ours from now.Remembering this at all times, helps to keep us focused on the only moment we have.

Which is: RIGHT NOW!

Enjoy it! Make it the best moment you possibly can, given the circumstances.

Take Responsibility

Don't let your circumstances control your mood. We should see a positive thought the same way we see a negative one, which is as just a thought. You can choose to have positive thoughts or not.

Every thought you have comes with a choice. The choice is how you want to feel about that thought, thing or circumstance. One thought plants the seeds for all that will follow. Your next thoughts, actions, and circumstances all depend on this choice.

The choice you make NOW.

Nothing beats a positive thought to propel you toward success and nothing can kill a dream faster than negativity. Realize that this is your choice. Take responsibility for the choices you've made thus far.

as Oprah Winfrey says:

"I know for sure that what we dwell on is who we become. Become the change you want to see - those are words I live by."

I have noticed by observing my life, as well as the people around me how true that statement is!

Don't beat yourself up!

Many times when people make mistakes, they waste a lot of time giving themselves a mental beating. This serves no purpose, other than to make them feel bad about themselves and continue to keep success and happiness at bay.

Instead use it to your advantage.

The gift it holds is the lesson that you made a mistake you can learn from. See it as the lesson that it is and move on. Mistakes and failure lead to success if you allow it to teach you it's lessons.

I have a great quote for you to use for this:

"The mountain of success is built with failure" ~ unknown

I think if you were to ask any millionaire if that statement were true; they would laugh and totally agree.

Life is about contrast.

We need sometimes to experience hard times as a character builder so we can grow. So when these times show up in your life, be grateful for it's lessons.

On that note another great quote that beautifully illustrates this point is:

"Most people, even though they don’t know it, are asleep. They’re born asleep, they live asleep, they marry in their sleep, they breed children in their sleep, they die in their sleep without ever waking up. They never understand the loveliness and the beauty of this thing that we call human existence." ~Anthony de Mello

Make every effort to awaken yourself every day! How?...

Have Faith

It's much easier to have positive thoughts if we believe in something more powerful than ourselves.

Most of us call this GOD; but since we live in a "politically correct society" now,Therefor; I will ask that you take this to mean- the God of your understanding.

That said: If we let go and let God; Trust that he can handle things much better than we can ever hope to. It opens up new possibilities for our lives, making positive thinking much easier. How can you loose? Anything is possible with God and he never goes back on his promises.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." ~Matthew 7:7

Search out and read spiritual texts from different faiths. Such as:
  • The Bible - Old and New Testaments
  • Bhagavad-Gita
  • Torah and Kabala (Zohar)
  • Koran(Islam)
  • Tao Te Ching (Taoism)
  • Tibetan Book of the Dead (Buddhism)
  • A Course in Miracles (New Age)
  • Dianetics (Scientology)
  • Book of Mormon (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints)
  • 5 Classics of Confucianism, 4 Books of Confucianism
  • The Power of Now (Eckhart Tolle)
  • The Prophet

And many more...

(The Bible is a great source but not the only one! Spiritual truth comes in many forms... (Read Matthew 7:7 above again.)

If this is uncomfortable to you, here is another quote~

"Take what you can use and disregard the rest." Which was part of a song by Simon & Garfunkel.

Another saying I like to use is: "If your happy be sure to tell your face about it!"

Always good advice!

Making Positive Affirmations work!

If you plan to use Positive Affirmations to Improve Your Life, the best advice I can give you is to always use them in the present tense by making "I AM" or "I have" statements.

Saying "I will" or "I want" allows your ego mind to put off what you are trying to accomplish. In essence, what you are telling yourself by doing that is that "someday" it could be this way. You want change NOW!

Steps To Making Positive Affirmations work!

In order to be effective in this process there are several little tricks that you will need to employ. Focused Intention, Repetition, Imagination and Emotion.

Focused Intention You already have an intention or you would not be using Positive Affirmations! So what is focused intention?

Concentrating on only one thing wth all your might. If you try to do too many things at once, you dilute your chances of successful change. Pick one or two Affirmations for yourself to concentrate on until you feel you have accomplished what you set out to do. Only then should you move on.

Repetition

This is obvious of course, but important! We all learn best by repeating something over and over.

This let's the subconscious mind grab hold of new concepts. Make it easy on your self by keeping your Positive Affirmations short and to the point. Five words or less is best, such as: I am the best _______.

Then fill in the blank with one or two words but no more. I find it most effective to only use three words.I am Wealthy, or I am Abundant; etc. This makes it not only easier to remember but you will find that you absorb it much quicker as well.

The most important thing about repetition is... Don't Give Up!

Don't stop repeating or chasing that dream. If you do, you are going backwards and reinforcing the negative thing you are trying to overcome!

We don't want negative affirmations do we?

Imagination

As you repeat your Positive Affirmations to yourself, imagine in your mind that you are already successful at being whatever it is you want to be. Use all of your senses to make it as real in your mind as possible! For instance, if you want to be a better musician, imagine hearing yourself play better and clearer notes. Hear your audience cheering louder. Taste or smell your instrument in way you never have before. See your hands and fingers moving more effortlessly and accurately, etc. The better you can Imagine it the better you will integrate it.

Emotion

Emotion ties in with what I have just discussed above. As you imagine being a better musician, as per our example, get excited about how it feels to be that. This will do some very key things.

Create motivation to practice being what you want to be.

Bring yourself closer to your goal.

Deepen integration into your subconscious that it feels good.

Shorten the time to achieving your goal.

Put as much emotion into it as you can! The more excited you can get yourself the faster you will achieve your desired effect.

Be more effective with your Positive Affirmations, by realizing thoughts are things, and practice Steps To Positive Thinking and learn how to stay positive!

If Thoughts Are Things, Think Positive!

If you've never considered the fact that thoughts are things, I hope to give you reason to consider it now. We create our reality through our thoughts everyday without even realizing how that works in our lives. But consider for a moment what happens when you have an idea. The first thing you do is make a decision about this idea or thought. Do you like the idea? What results or effects will this idea, or thought, have if you implement it? I won't even go into the part where you start wondering whether or not you can actually do it, I hope to make that self evident as you read this page.

Let's say you like the idea you had and decide to implement it. What comes next? ACTION! You begin to take steps to bring this idea to fruition, whether it was an idea for a new invention or a birthday party; it started with a thought! That thought turns into a plan that we carry out to make something happen. So we start to see that thoughts are things. Still not convinced?

Scientific proof that thoughts are things.

I won't even pretend that I am scientifically inclined whatsoever, but the fact remains that scientists have proven, through the study of Quantum physics, that our thoughts have a direct effect on things at a subatomic level. We first need to get a basic understanding that everything in our physical world is made up of energy. We all know that atoms come together to make up our physical world. Quantum physics goes deeper or smaller; so much so that it goes into the "probability" of what something will become. When Scientists observe these "probabilities" they found that their thoughts and feelings had a direct effect on the outcome of their experiments! How cool is that!?

What that means to You and I.

If scientist's experiments are effected by their thoughts and feelings, then our own thoughts and feelings absolutely affect the outcome of our reality! It also proves that positive thinking actually works and how very important it is to Think Positive for our health, wealth, and happiness!

A great book to read on this subject is called: "A HAPPY POCKET FULL OF MONEY" By David Cameron Gikandi. After I read this book, I had no doubt that thoughts are things and re-reading it often, has helped me guard my thinking much more carefully indeed!

You've heard the saying "be careful what you wish for; you just may get it". How many times have you had a thought or dream that came true; only to be disappointed, because it didn't turn out as you expected? Try to go back to that moment.

What were your actual thoughts? Did you have doubts that it could work out for you? Perhaps someone warned you how it really would be and you chose to ignore that warning, or you bought into their story without realizing it. You may have also found out that it wasn't what you really wanted after all.

Use this to clarify what you are really trying to create in your life. What parts did you like or dislike? O.K.; Now concentrate on the parts you liked and add something else that you think you may enjoy. See what works for you. Just remember, Thoughts are things that create our reality. Think positive, feel positive, act positive, get positive results! It really is that simple!

Now that you understand thoughts are things you'll need steps to positive thinking to begin creating more Abundance in your life.

Thought Stopping for a better you!

What is Thought Stopping?

A process that stops negative thoughts from taking hold in your mind. A way to replace negative thinking, with positive thinking, as soon as you notice a bad thought or idea.

A stress relief method for anxiety, depression, fear or phobias.

How Thought Stopping works

We hear ourselves thinking all the time! By paying attention to our thoughts we can gain more thought control. Here is how to do it:

1) Notice your negative thought.

2) Give yourself the audible command-STOP! (as I said we hear our thoughts so you can just think this to yourself if need be.)

3) Wash, rinse and repeat as necessary!

Your mind will argue with you about why you should feel this way.So you must rationalize a more positive thought to yourself.

Is this Method Effective?

Absolutely! From my own experience, I have noticed a marked improvement in my attitudes about many things.

You are distracting your mind from the "snowball" effect by redirection. Just as you would do to keep a child out of trouble. Give your mind something better to do!

Remember to keep it real! Lying to ourselves never works! We immediately know it for what it is, so don't waste your time with that method. Instead think of situations that you have proof of, to convince yourself with. Each time you get an "argument" repeat "STOP" to yourself and explain why this thought, or fear, is unfounded.

A Better You

With consistent practice, you will begin to notice the negative thoughts and fears you once had melting away like ice on a hot day! As with any thing the more you do it the better you become.

This is my personal favorite method of thought control because it is nontechnical, and unlike E.F.T or Emotional Freedom Techniques,(Tapping on Chakra points on the body) nobody knows your doing it but you. This makes it useful anytime or anywhere!

Tips for positive thinking and abundance from an average guy

Can an Average guy like me, who is an over the road truck driver, give you tips on positive thinking, abundance,Law of Attraction so that you have more abundance in your life?? Do you think it takes an "Expert" to show you this? Who says I am not an expert? Why would you think that YOU are not? Most of us do not give ourselves credit for the knowledge and wisdom we all hold inside. My purpose here is to prove to you that anyone can create the life they want. It's just a matter of how bad do you want it and what are you willing to do to get it? The first thing we have to do, is recognize that our own wisdom is a valuable resource that people will pay us for!

For me, driving a truck 11 days in a row is not my ideal life. While I get to travel the country, and meet interesting people and see interesting things. I miss out on the people and things that mean the most to me! My family, friends, and my home. I kept thinking there must be a way to make a good honest living from a great idea. So I spent my days in the truck daydreaming, trying to find that one idea. Searching the internet for affiliate programs or ways to make money online. I was positive there was a way. I was bound and determined to find it! Then I came across a website that taught me about the law of attraction, positive thinking and abundance. I thought to myself "maybe this is the answer!?" So I learned all I could about it. I signed up for the newsletters and bought a few of the programs offered. It was money well spent! This website is a direct result of that learning.

SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU? Well your reading this page right? A page written by some truck driver that decided he had something to share, and took ACTION! So... If you are looking for more abundance in your life, what wisdom or passion do you have? If your first answer to that question was "none that anyone would pay for." Then stay tuned friend. I will show you how wrong you are! Because if *I* can do it; So can you! You just have to have some Positive Thinking!

To stay in a "positive thinking mode" for most of us, is no easy task! Life happens! *and so does that other stuff ;-) * But I've learned that staying frustrated and angry, only makes me... frustrated and angry. Sometimes that is appropriate, for a while. The trick is to enjoy that feeling. Even though it is negative at the time. Seems contradictory doesn't it? Well... it is, sort of. They say "Life is short", so we should enjoy every thought, feeling, and experience that comes our way. Be it good or bad from our unique perspective.

A perspective that we can control. We can control our thoughts. And yes, we can also control our emotions. It's all on how we choose to think about it. If we choose to think that "Life Sucks" we can be sure it will! If we hold that attitude for an extended period, we will find ways to attract things that "suck" into our life subconsciously. But if we use positive thinking, we can attract abundance of all kinds. Money, Love, and whatever you can think of. IT IS A CHOICE!

So I'm deciding to choose better, and inviting you, through this website, to do the same. I'm Inviting you to join me on a journey to learn how positive thinking can, and will, bring more abundance in whatever you choose to focus on. So let's have fun! And focus on the good stuff!

Positive Thinking for Average People

Are you just an average person trying to change your life with Positive Thinking? Or did you come to this site looking for a "GURU" to learn from? There are plenty of "gurus" out on the web who will tell you how to stay positive! But how many websites have you seen, where an average guy, will invite you to share and join in a journey?Well, I'm no guru but I hope you'll stick around and share this journey.I am excited about the prospects of where this could go, and how much fun we can have!

What I'd like you to do this week, is to just be aware of the people around you. How they speak, act, move, dress, etc. I love doing this! Just people watching. The thing that strikes me most is that you can almost tell how much people values themselves, and what "social class" they fit into, very quickly.

Just by noticing these few things! Not to judge anyone, but, what I have noticed is, that the more self value a person has, the more money they seem to have!

Think about that!! What positive or negative thoughts about themselves do you think they carry? This is what got me interested in positive-thinking-for-abundance, and why I decided to make a website about it. I find it fascinating! I wanted to share that fascination with like minded people. Like YOU!

Now, ask yourself, how do I fit into that scope? Where can I improve to bring more abundance and wealth into my life? Where am I self sabotaging, or blocking myself, from getting the things that I want?

This is the question I pose to you, as well as myself. To me, this is how to stay positive!Keep asking yourself, "what can I do right now, that will make me a better person?" That sets the intention. Then, the more you ask yourself that question, the more inspiration you will receive. The trick is to ACT on that inspiration!

As This website grows, I intend to show (or prove) that even an average person like myself, can actually gain financial abundance, by practicing Positive Thinking and other techniques.

SO Let's get started!

The plan is to research some of the top names in the industry, such as:

  •     Bob Doyle
  •     David Cameron Gikandi
  •     Joe Vitale
  •     Bob Proctor
  •     Zig Ziglar
  •     Anthony Robbins

To name a few. Join or study the programs and methods they offer, and see what effects they have. Later when I see results in my life, I will recommend them to you (or you can just follow along on your own.)Through researching some of these topics, I have already learned several techniques that we can try together. They are...

  •     Law of Attraction
  •     Steps of Positive Thinking
  •     Thought Stopping/ Thought control
  •     Mind Power
  •     Mental Self Help
  •     Learning that “Thoughts are Things”
  •     Positive Affirmations

I'll dive into these one at a time, test them to see what works best, and tell you my results. So the next page you can look for will be titled "Steps of Positive Thinking" since that seems the most logical place to start.
